After a productive morning, the rest of my day was spent bathing myself in autumn: golden reds & sharp earthy crackle of leaves.
Sunday morning in Khayelitsha township watching a footy match that Joel umpired. A big windy field, & 2 teams of gangly players.
Like a leaf wafting gently through the air & coming to rest on the soggy earth, the realisation that this is my new life sinks in to my inner soil.
Tired legs, empty purses & parched throats - time for cold beers & some seafood.
Lovely long afternoon with a piano player providing the soundtrack.
A sumptuous spread of dainty tarts, muffins, cakes, sandwiches & quiches!
A leafy stroll on a beautiful autumn day.
At a Book launch, which fills me with longing & hope!
We sit on the jetty & an artist called Riaan (who's also a gospel singing martial artist doing what he calls Halleluja Martial Arts!) draws our portrait.
We drive over the mtn on a foggy cold day & suddenly in Hout Bay it's a different day: sunny & mild.
Brunch on a breezy day.
A thought while finishing dinner & doing some sneaky people-watching: Imagine if we all carried our stories like the blurb to a book (maybe hanging off our necks like dog tags), so that strangers could read a brief summary - just like we do anyway when we look at someone's face. What would your story say?
It suddenly seems so odd to me that I can go to the beach on a Monday evening!
We live just past the big rock on the left.
Took cable car to the top of Table Mtn on a clear big sky afternoon.
A cold beer, a companion (my mum visiting from Jozi) & a spectacular sunset over a calm sea.
A bench, a mountain & melt-in-your mouth choc eclairs.
Clatter of coffee cups, animated voices all around & sea gulls poking fun at us from the air.
Nala loves her twice daily walks! For me it's a great way of greeting the day & winding down at sunset.
